Dr. Stephen Woo, President of Samsung Device Solutions, talked about processing, memory, and display. It was all about components, technology. What I thought on this change is that Samsung might think that they now have technologically competitive advantage among the industry. The catch-up strategy moment has gone and they are on the leading position in the technological innovation. Then, the top runner needs to play a role as an evangelist. Microsoft used to vision on the digital future and Intel developed the chips that could make it happen. Intel as well shows the future concept of the digital life. In that sense, I don’t see any idea how our life will change with mobile technology from Samsung’s keynote and booth. I understood that the bumpy road with the fast moving racing car on 3D game could be expressed on screen with higher power processors. That, however, is no more than expectations. Chinese manufactures might no be able to propose the vision yet. It is not a good idea that Samsung have both roles, CEO and CTO in the industry. Anyhow, they needs the partner whether they become CEO or CTO to show what is the mobilized possibility. |
